The Amazon Echo Plus 1st Gen was not what you'd call a class-leader, but the Amazon Echo Plus 2nd Gen is a big improvement. It has great sound with both a woofer and tweeter, and its Zigbee hub makes it easy to connect to smart home devices. However, its $150 price tag is a bit steep, and it still can't quite replace a dedicated smart speaker.
